The Down There Side of Pregnancy Before I became pregnant with my first baby I knew there were going to be some changes in my body. I knew I would most likely experience morning sickness, swollen ankles, and weight gain. But there were some things no one ever told me about, that I feel compelled to share with you now. First, this is the end of what I affectionately call the ?Shaving Your Legs Era?. It starts in the first weeks of pregnancy, when you are too darn tired to take a shower. If you did stammer up enough energy to shower, you would not want to bend over and risk losing the two saltines you barely managed to keep down that morning. Quickly, your baby and your belly get larger and just as your energy comes back, and even if you wanted to, logistically shaving is just not an option anymore. This brings me to my second revelation. (Warning: this is not for the squeamish!) Let?s just say that there are other parts of the body which you are not able to see, let alone shave! Ouch! And forget about going to the bathroom, it?s like being a skilled contortionist from the Side Show Circus. Tying your shoes will be another ?task of the past?. As the months go by you will forget what your feet even look like, and when you finally do see them again they might just be a size or two bigger! Take it from me, buy a pair of slip on shoes now and just go with it. After the baby is born you won?t have time to tie your shoes anyway; so they truly are a great investment. Morning sickness, swollen ankles, and weight gain are all well known parts of pregnancy. It?s the other things, which no one tells you about, that are also a big part of the pregnancy experience. So I just thought I would bring them out into the open. Just remember, the end result makes it all worthwhile. When you hold that beautiful baby in your arms all those little annoyances will be a thing of the past too! Enjoy!
